One of my family tapes even snapped as I was rewinding it and had to take it apart and attach it to the reel, and of course, I was unable to get the back flap back on, but it still worked. Either way, it's better than old VHS videos. It's actually better because it preserves them on the laptop and you can either make a DVD for backup storage or record to a flash drive. The VidBox is very easy to use though, no big problem setting it up and easy to follow instructions as it leads you through the setup.

I could definitely play them on my MBP on which they were recorded, so again, it might be some incompatibility with old and new technology, but it did give me a way to preserve old family videos.
Vidbox video conversion for mac software#
The software of this device is very to use and is very effective. It works with any video player with RCA output or Firewire (IEEE 1394) port. The entire Vidbox VHS to digital converter 8.0 Deluxe kit comes along with a Vidbox (USB Video Capture device), a USB cable, and RCA AV cables. The only problem, and it might be the DVDs, is that some of the DVDs would not play on a DVD player to view on TV. This converter is very easy to use and so is the software.

The technology is old and this helped me record them to my MacBook Pro and then copy them to a DVD. I bought this because my VHS/DVD player wasn't able to dub videos to dvd any more. specializes in developing and distributing consumer video and audio transfer products and other consumer technology products.
